F Stop and Depth of Field

So let’s say you have a Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM. It’s fully zoomed out to 105mm, and f/4 stop is used, the diameter of your lens aperture blades will look 26.25 mm across (105/4). As compared to using a smaller aperture such as f/16, the diameter is reduced to 6.5mm (105/16).
